Monday, December 11, 6:30pm - Public TIRZ Board Meeting at St. Stephens Episcopal 1827 W Alabama St, Havens Center, Houston, TX 77098.

This is a VERY IMPORTANT meeting.  Please attend in person if you possibly can, and sign up when you come in to speak (3 min max) -or- register for Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZElcOCqpzgpGNRO1s1yRqBQTqadWZIb9yr1

IF YOU CANNOT ATTEND THE DEC 11 TIRZ MEETING IN PERSON OR BY ZOOM. THEN AT LEAST DO THIS:    Send an email to info@montrosehtx.org stating:

“I am unable to attend your Dec 11 board meeting, but would like the following statement (s) to be included in the public feedback portion of your meeting:”

Then list whatever questions, comments, or suggestions you would like them to hear.  Here are some suggestions:/examples:

-       I am a Montrose resident who was never given sufficient notice of this project.

-       How can you claim that this plan was well communicated and is supported by most Montrose residents when thousands of us have signed a petition against it?

-       I am strongly opposed to the removal of every tree on the sides of Montrose Blvd during phase 1 of the project. Why can’t you modify the plan to preserve some of these trees?

-       How can you take 5 feet off each side of the medians without hurting those mature live oaks?  What is your response to the report from certified arborist Matt Latham that paints a grim picture for the health and longevity of the median trees?

-       Please reconsider whether a sidewalk is really needed on the west side of Montrose from Allen Pkwy to Dallas alongside the Magnolia Cemetery.  This will necessitate cutting down 140+ year old historic post oaks.

-       I strongly object to the installation of 10-foot-wide sidewalks on Montrose Blvd. unless the design can be modified to preserve the mature trees.

-       How many trees are planned to be cut down in Phase 2 of this project?  When will see the new streetscape renderings that were promised in your last board meeting?

-       Why do we need a shared pedestrian and bike path on Montrose when the dedicated buke lane on nearby Waugh is easily accessible, and rarely used.?

  •       Please listen to the Save Montrose Live Oaks group.  I support their efforts.

Your emails to the TIRZ really do make a difference.  Please send an email if you can’t attend the Dec 11 meeting.  We need hundreds of people to demand their attention, our small group cannot do this alone!

Be sure to register on our website so we can stay in touch with you as our efforts continue.  www.SaveMontoreLiveOaks.com
