The current Alabama Athletic Commission is entirely indifferent to the sport staying active in our state. A direct quote heard when discussing them killing the sport was " good, working every weekend is gettin old real quick." There are tons of gyms and athletes in our state that want to compete here but many have decided against it completely and fewer and fewer are going to continue doing so when having to deal with a rude,uncooperative, uneducated to the sport and incapable Athletic commission. If they aren't going to do the job that they signed up for and allow the sport the opportunity to grow then they should step down.  The UFC will never come here while this commission is as poorly ran as it is and many other promotions and competitors have already decided against it. There is zero good said about the sport in our state aside from the promotions and even they are getting ready to head to other states or quit entirely.

Essentially we would like them to step down or do a better job than they are currently. Their are many rules and deadlines we would like changed. Safety is always the first priority but it definitely shouldn't seem like an act of congress to make something as simple as a pro am event happen. We would love to sit and discuss this or be allowed the opportunity to appoint a fight educated board capable of giving us the same opportunity to grow as our surrounding states have enjoyed.
