Historical Memorial Hall is in danger of being demolished or sold to an outside entity. 

Memorial Hall was never intended to be part of any demolition plans outlined in the Downtown Master Plan. In fact, the STAR bond was introduced to assist with essential renovations, reinforcing the intent to invest in — not dismantle — our historic structures.

Memorial Hall: Preserving Heritage, Enhancing Functionality

Since 1912, Memorial Hall has stood as a central part of Hutchinson’s heritage. The planned upgrades will preserve its historic charm while modernizing its facilities. This includes a new HVAC system, remodeled restrooms, a renovated concession area, and updated seating and flooring. These improvements will ensure that Memorial Hall remains a premier venue for events year-round, increasing its regional significance as a central hub for community and cultural activities.

The City has demonstrated its ability to find significant funding in the past, such as the resources used to demolish the old Ramada and the incentives provided to the Landmark Hotel project. Additionally, the sports arena is receiving new seats this summer. These examples show that when there is a will, there is a way to prioritize community assets.  

The city hasn't invested in Memorial Hall.  Currently, it is not usable from May to October because of the lack of air conditioning.  This does not allow this majestic building to be used to it's fullest potential. 

Time is now to act to save Memorial Hall, there is no other venue in Hutchinson that compares. Thank you for your support.
