Save Matoska Dog Beach

The Issue

PAWS UP, FUR-FRIENDS!

We’ve done it—delivered our mighty stack of signatures to the City Council! The big hearing was on the 25th, and now the humans in charge are still sniffing things out. Their next meeting is on March 11th, and at this point, it’s not clear which way their tails will wag.

One thing we do know? The Mayor is barking up the wrong tree—he wants to shut down our beach, saying it has "outgrown the space." But we say, a well-loved beach is a well-used beach!

Some Council members still seem unsure, which means there’s still time to get our voices heard! If your human lives in Wards 5, 4, or 1, send a friendly nudge (or a full-on howl) to their representative.

Also, some humans seem to think that small dog parks don’t work—but we know that’s just not true! If you and your fur-friends have had pawsome experiences at smaller dog parks near neighborhoods, send those examples to the Council. Showing them that well-loved, well-used small parks do exist could help convince them that our beach isn’t a lost cause!

Let’s keep our tails wagging and our paws pushing forward! We’re not giving up on our beach!
