To save free, available parking in downtown Lawrence, sign this petition! Parking on Mass St. has always been limited. Especially as of late, outdoor seating from the Covid-19 Pandemic has limited the street parking downtown. Now, proposed private development projects are planning to replace the Vermont St. garage and the other free lot downtown, the New Hampshire St. lot. Without these two lots, parking will be near impossible down town. The city doesn’t seem to be worried about this issue, since it is assumed that this will neither hinder or limit lawrence residents from shopping / dining downtown. If these lots are removed, lawrence drivers will have major difficulties attempting to park downtown, which is already a major problem.
