Today was a great day for us from MalaysiaMedicalMarijuana (MMM) & MCare Society, a local non-government organization (NGO). We had the privilege to meet with other local groups devoted to the same goal of cannabis and hemp education and awareness. A much clearer grasp on the direction and objectives of each group including our organization has been underlined and discussed to ensure that each entity focus on and succeed professionally as one Malaysia. The THCare Run organized at Bukit Nanas, Menara KL yesterday was a fun filled program comprising of a short jungle track, Zumba dance, sports massage, and finally ending with a discussion session on MCare Society’s latest scientific publication, “Human Evolution & Cannabis”. We sweated out, enjoyed nature’s beauty and grew stronger as a community, society and country. MMM has always aimed at attaining the attention of local scientists and researchers to study cannabis, shedding more light on the matter. Soon enough, we were introduced to Mr. Harish Kumar and his study by local Associate Professor at University Putra Malaysia (UPM) who is currently the leading scientist in Malaysia on cannabis research. After reviewing the study, Mr. Harish was given the opportunity to present and publish his study at the International Anatomical and Biomedical Scientific Conference (IABS) they hosted this year. It was a captivating study that related physics and biology together, creating a new perspective for scientists to understand the complex functions of our bodies in detail. He is now in the process of obtaining more peer reviews from academicians to strengthen the credibility of the study and looking for an opportunity to further his studies and research through clinical study either locally or abroad. We at MMM strongly supports his efforts and chose to place the study as our fore study that we would like to see Malaysia share to the global scientific world. Clinical studies on cannabis use will portray the truth behind the biological and psychological effects to the Malaysian people might be it bad or good.
