Our community is at risk of losing something special.

Macri’s Fruit Shed is facing closure — not due to lack of support, but because of changing planning rules and a process that has left this small local business with no fair pathway forward.

After being forced to shut down for two months when they first opened, the owners have spent the past two years doing everything asked of them — submitting applications, hiring consultants, completing reports, and investing thousands of dollars.

Now, just as they are ready to resubmit, they’ve been told the “tourist facilities” land use no longer exists — leaving them with two options:

• Pay an unaffordable rezoning cost…Or close their doors

Macri’s Fruit Shed is more than just a shop. It’s:
A local small business

A source of fresh, fair priced and accessible produce 

It’s also a community hub where ‘Good Mornings’ and ‘Hey Mate! How are you?’ happen daily  

Losing it means losing something that genuinely brings people together.

▪️Consider alternative approvals or transitional solutions

▪️Support a small business that has acted in good faith
