Hello, My name is Catherine Landry. I am a Louise Dean alumni. I had my first child at the young age of 16 years old. I dropped out of high school, and had  given up on the chance of obtaining my high school diploma, until I was introduced to Louise Dean. Louise Dean school, was created for young moms, so they can have the support and opportunity to get their high school diploma. Fast forward seven years, and I have now graduated, and am currently working on my BBA in accounting. I work a good job and have two healthy, happy kids. This would not have been my life without this program. When walking through the front doors, I knew I was not alone, I was never judged, and always had support.

Now the Calgary Board of Education has declared that they are closing Louise Dean School, and moving this program in a normal high school in Forest Lawn. Doing this will open up a new world of struggles for these moms. Not only will bulling increase, but harassment ,assault and increased percentage of a mom or child being injured as Jack James High School is known for violence and drug abuse.

These moms deserve the chance to have their own building, where they know they are safe and welcomed. Please sign this petition to not only help the moms now, but their children, and the future young moms to come. GIVE LOUISE DEAN THEIR OWN SCHOOL IN A SAFE NEIGHBOURHOOD!!
