The matter concerning the 🌳 Save London (Orange) Street Green Zone – Protect Nagpur’s Urban Green Zone 🌳 has now been taken up by the High Court of Judicature at Bombay under Suo Motu Public Interest Litigation (SMPIL) No. 10 of 2026.
This crucial development highlights the gravity of environmental concerns associated with the Orange (London) Street Project. The Hon’ble Court has intervened to ensure accountability, transparency, and strict compliance with environmental safeguards.
The Court has emphasised independent verification and has sought a detailed compliance report, reflecting serious judicial scrutiny over large-scale tree felling linked to the project.
Further strengthening public accountability, various critical project-related documents have been obtained under the Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005, from the Town Planning Department and the Executive Engineer, Project Division No. 1, Nagpur Municipal Corporation, pertaining to the Orange (London) City Street Project, including various Town Planning (TP) Plan Maps and related planning records.

Over the past few months, I have been reaching out to several legal professionals regarding the concerns surrounding the Orange City (London) Street Project in Khamla.
