Loki, a sweet dog who has brought joy and companionship to many, now faces an uncertain future simply because of an unfortunate incident. His quarantine ends just two days before Christmas, a time when families come together in love and joy. A person even drove several kilometers to adopt him. Unfortunately, a child ran up to Loki in the shelter and squeezed him too hard, causing him to react with a Level 3 bite—not out of aggression, but out of self-defense.  This happened the same day the adopter arrived, putting the adoption on hold.  Loki doesn't seem to have a history of biting before this, and like any living creature, he deserves a second chance.

Advertising Loki as 'teen friendly' can ensure he finds himself in a household without small children, where he might feel more at ease. Using social media and community networks, we can find a temporary foster or even a permanent home for Loki. This breed of proactive engagement ensures that Loki is not penalized to the point of ending his life.

According to the ASPCA, approximately 3.3 million dogs enter shelters every year. Many face euthanasia due to overcrowding or incidents like Loki's. In reality, 48% of households have at least one dog, proving there is a loving home for each dog that needs one. With robust community efforts, this is attainable.
