Save Lochgelly's Fire Engine and Rope Rescue Unit

Save Lochgelly's Fire Engine and Rope Rescue Unit
The Issue
Recently, discussions have emerged about losing a Fire Engine and Rope Rescue unit at Lochgelly Fire Station, leaving our town, surrounding areas and its residents vulnerable.
Lochgelly is home to 1 of only 4 Rope Rescue Units in Scotland. These crews are specially trained to carry out complex and dangerous rescues – from above and below ground, from cliffs and rivers to high structures and industrial sites.
Taking away this unit, along with one of the Fire Engines, is a serious threat to Public Safety and Firefighter Safety. It will increase emergency response times, reduce fire cover across the area, and place unnecessary strain on already-stretched resources.
Every community deserves equal access to life-saving emergency services
Fife, having already recently been hit with cuts and losing 2 Fire Engines and a Height Appliance should not be left further behind.
Calling for:
✅The Retention of both Fire Engines at Lochgelly Fire Station
✅The Continued presence of the rope rescue unit
✅A commitment to fair and safe fire cover for all communities
Thank you for supporting your community and our local firefighters
