On September 9th, LMU publicly reaffirmed its commitment to the LMU Children's Center (read more here). In the press release, LMU committed to the following: 

• LMU is not closing the Children’s Center.
• LMU will invest more than $1 million in the 2025-26 period to address the repairs and maintenance of the LMUCC’s facilities, to maintain a safe, welcoming, and high-quality environment for the children in our care.
• LMU will continue to collaborate with the community on the LMUCC’s financial model, thereby strengthening its long-term sustainability and ensuring access for all members of our community.
• LMU will launch an ambitious fundraising initiative to reimagine and rebuild the LMUCC for generations to come, ensuring it remains a model of excellence in early childhood care and education.

The announcement follows 9 months of advocacy to all levels of LMU administration and local and state politicians. You all have called, emailed, and spoken with decision-makers. You each made a difference in the future of LMUCC. The advocacy work will continue as we ensure that LMU carries out the plans listed above. Stay tuned for more updates!
