We recently have followed up with the Ministry of Health with our requests.

1.Monthly Assistance for Immunosuppressant Medication

Extend the ₹10,000 monthly support beyond BPL recipients to all transplant recipients, irrespective of income status.
Implement a direct procurement system

2. Coverage for Essential Diagnostic Tests

Ensure direct government payment to accredited labs for two-monthly, six-monthly, and yearly diagnostic tests to prevent organ rejection and maintain recipients’ health.

3. Insurance Coverage Government funds for Transplant Recipients

Incentivize insurance companies to provide coverage for post-transplant recipients, including essential diagnostic tests like biopsy and antibody testing.
If private insurers refuse, request government funding for hospitals to conduct these tests.
4. Enhanced Post-Transplant Care

Establish a dedicated central fund for post-transplant care to safeguard recipients’ health and honor donor contributions.

5. Declare Transplant health care costs Tax free

Alternatively, declare recipients' annual healthcare expenses (approx. ₹5 lakhs) as tax-exempt to reduce financial strain.
