The Issue

Speeding on Rossendale's Burnley Road East is putting lives at risk.

Burnley Road East is a residential road, and the home to hundreds of people living along its entire length. Thousands more live on adjacent roads and estates and need to be able to access its shops and services safely as pedestrians.

The road is well-known to residents, police and road safety campaigners as a speeding hotspot. And yet it is the only major route into the Valley that has not yet been provided with speed cameras.

The existing 30 mph speed limit is there to save lives, and it deserves to be enforced. The Lancashire Road Safety Partnership has the power to achieve this by recommending the installation of cameras at high-risk locations along the road.

Please sign this petition to demand that the Lancashire Road Safety Partnership takes action to provide cameras on Burnley Road East to protect the lives of residents and their children.
