Dear Supporter,
New plans need new objections
You supported our campaign to save Liverpool Street Station previously, and this may have included writing a letter of objection to the 2023 scheme. For that we are hugely grateful. However, this current application is an entirely new one, so any objections submitted previously to the City of London planning portal will not now be taken into consideration. We are therefore asking you to submit an objection to the new plans by 4th July, and in so doing help to save Liverpool Street Station.
We have created a Guide to Writing Your Objection, which is available to read here. This will direct you to the planning portal online where you can submit your objection, and help to compose a comment that you can email to the Chair and members of the City of London planning committee. The Guide outlines some of the many valid reasons for objecting to these plans. The deadline for objections is the 4th July.
Currently 521 objections to the scheme have been lodged on the planning portal (compared with about 2500 in response to the 2023 scheme). By contrast, there are now 639 comments notionally supporting the development. We need every objection we can muster to clearly demonstrate the level of opposition that exists to Network Rail’s destructive plans.
While we actively welcome the principle of upgrading the station’s facilities, this latest scheme would cause substantial harm to the historic station and its setting, and to the surrounding Conservation Area. Upgrading the operational capacity of the station should not come at such a heavy cost to the nation’s historic and architectural integrity.
Donate towards our fighting fund
We would also be incredibly grateful if you could donate to our fundraiser to help us fight these plans! If you have already done so, then many thanks indeed.
Please share our posts on social media #SaveLiverpoolStreetStation
It would help us enormously if you could continue to like and share our social media posts, as well as the link to the fundraiser and our guide to how to object to the planning application.
These are the essential things that we can all do to Save Liverpool Street Station.
Thank you for your invaluable support from Griff and the Campaign to Save Liverpool Street Station
