SAVE Little Notre Dame Chapel from demolition. STOP Government dictatorial arrogance.
The issue
IMMEDIATE ACTION IS REQUIRED TO HELP REVERSE A DEVASTATING & INHUMANE DECISION BY LOGAN COUNCIL & STATE
John, Marcie, and Julie Rivett are struggling to come to terms with the devastating decision that their land, family homes (there are generational homes on the property) & their wedding venue livelihood is being forcibly taken from them by Logan City Council & The State Government.
Logan City Council & The State Government are hell-bent on reclaiming and levelling the land on which a thriving multi-awards winning family business, with multi award winning gardens, has operated for decades. The intention of Logan council & State government is to bulldoze the property & all that stands above ground. John & Marcie were informed of this decision in July 2023 and will lose forever their family property, and all of its structures, on 31 January 2024.
On the property, stands an exquisite intimate chapel where over many years couples have been wedded. It was in fact built by John!
My goal is simple: to relocate the chapel and save it from being razed to the ground. John, Marcie, & the extended Rivett family want the church to come to a new home with me just two hours drive from its current location.
For John and Marcie, the sale of the chapel will go a small way to compensate the forced closure of their business (for which the government has failed to compensate them).
A building relocation company is lined up & prepared to relocate Little Notre Dame Chapel as early as permits allow. We only ask of the Council and Government that the chapel be left standing until such time as the required licenses & permits for relocation can be approved to enable the legal relocation of the chapel (approximately 6 months).
To date, this simple request for the chapel to remain on the existing land has been repeatedly denied outright. Apparently, the Council's only interest is destruction, with no regard for a local family and their business which has played a part in the lives of hundreds of newly-wed couples.
Governments without heart or compassion run & ruin lives ... please help in preventing John & Marcie's story of devastation & destruction continue ... help us to relocate Little Notre Dame to a new home in the mountains where Marcie, John & their generation family will always have a little memorial to their precious Joncia gardens.
The sands in the hour glass for little Notre Dame are nearly through .. please help overturn this cruel, callous & grossly inhumane decision by Logan council & State Government.
