After 3 months of no response from the city's planning department, the city has posted a notice for the permit on its website https://www.cityoflfp.com/313/Notices-and-Announcements
This notice was issued on May 12th and the city has offered us an option to appeal by May 26th.
During the last few months, we have been continuing to follow-up with the city's planning department and also commented at the April tree board meeting to help save the trees. The tree board is supportive but does not have any administrative authority to stop the permit. So, we must collect all evidence/records and go through the appeal process with the city hearing examiner.
Thanks to vigilant neighbors and the LFP police department, we were able to stop the tree cutting in time and save the trees until the hearing for the appeal for the tree permit.
