Save Leis Dog Park and Sweeney Reserve

The issue

Dog owners in the Moreton Bay Region have lost several dog parks along the Pine River. Where our dogs could once cool off in the extreme heat we often experience.

Since the floods, Leis Dog Park in Lawnton and Sweeney Reserve in Petrie have suffered immense flooding. This saw fencing damaged and eventually removed by the Moreton Bay Council - with no attempt to repair and reopen these once large and heavily used dog parks.

Not only have we lost places to exercise our pooches, but we’ve lost places to socialise and keep ourselves active while spending quality time with our beloved pups. We need to come together to save Leis Dog Park and Sweeney Reserve.

By signing this petition we can encourage the Moreton Bay Council to repair the dog parks we have lost, instead of shutting them down. If we don’t do something now, we will continue to lose places to exercise our dogs at an alarming rate.
