A bus ride will cost $2.75 each way ($1.35 if you have a reduced fare card) and seniors ride for free! That fare is allowed for unlimited transfers within a three hour time frame. So let’s keep our fares fair and reasonable!

PRT may raise the fares to $3, same fare as NYC’s MTA.

If PRT cuts your bus route and you can’t afford a car, you will be likely to pay:

$15-25 each way from Downtown Pittsburgh or Pirate Games via Uber or Lyft.

$25-40 each way to Kennywood

$40-50 each way to go to or from the Airport

That’s not fair!

If you have a disability (like me, autism) or on Medicare and if you have UPMC for Life, you may have a transportation benefit that can get you to the grocery stores, library, church, funeral homes, assistance offices, banks, hair saloons and other essiential trips. But here is a catch: You are only allowed a certain number of trips per year, they are only available Monday thru Friday from 5am to 4pm. You cannot use your trips to commute to the airport or work. That may be fair but you have to use your trips wisely.
