UPDATES! Combined with the in-person petition, we have more than 530 signatures! The petition was shared with Lassens to encourage them to continue looking for a new location if the Lakes is not an option. They were very touched by the support of the community! The petition was also shared with Erewhon management, who contests Lassens' statements about not being able to renew their lease and instead believe Lassens chose not to renew their lease. I have communicated to Erewhon that the optics of the story and the fact that Erewhon did not comment when contacted by the media has allowed a one-sided story to be circulated that supports Lassens stance. Even if there was a misunderstanding, the outcome is the same - an unwanted and short planned closure of a 35-year business and 19 jobs lost! Let's not give up! Continue to share the petition and encourage Lassens! 

UPDATE: Although the store is now closed to the public, the lease is through May. Do not give up hope as there is still time to bring back Lassens to the Lakes. Amazon Fresh just closed at Caruso's other nearby property, the Promenade, meaning there is a readily available space for Erewhon to go to in Westlake. At the very least, our movement will motivate and inspire Lassens' management to find a new location ASAP! There are 300 signatures on a hard-copy petition which means we are at 500 signatures including this online petition. Thank you and please share!

Our beloved local organic grocer Lassens is scheduled to close on April 30 at the Lakes in Thousand Oaks! Lassens' corporate was informed recently by property manager Caruso that when their lease is up, it will not be renewed. There was no negotiation and this is absolutely not want Lassens wanted as the Thousand Oaks store is one of their most successful. Caruso awarded the lease to Erewhon instead.

Lassens in Thousand Oaks is a special community of health and wellness customers and incredibly warm and knowledgeable staff. Some of the employees have worked here for more than 10 years. This is a huge loss not just to the loyal shoppers that depend on Lassens for items not available elsewhere, but also for the team that is like a family.

Lets show our support for Lassens and sign this petition to save the Thousand Oaks store! The more people that sign this petition, the stronger message it will send to Caruso and Erewhon that they are making a big mistake replacing Lassens.
