On the Monday 22nd March 2023, the Students and Parents of Langdale Free School were informed that our beloved local school would be closed and would not re-open after the Summer Holidays.

This school was founded in 1920 and is a big part of the community. One of the greatest strengths of the school is its established presence within the local community as part of Blackpool’s living history.

Due to this decision, over 90 students now have to find a place at another primary school, most likely splitting up siblings and friend groups created over the years at Langdale. This does not only affect the children but the staff at Langdale school now have to look and apply for jobs.

Langdale is not just a primary school, but a community. It not only educates its pupils but cares for them, identifying any areas that a child may need help in and offering extra support where needed. Langdale has been involved in raising money for charities, sending aid abroad and advocating for foodbanks if families are struggling and much more that we just can't list. 

The school means so much to the pupils, their parents and staff, we are all devastated.

Please as a matter of urgency to Save Our School sign our Petition. We also urge you to share with anyone you can.
