6,000+ Support Keeping the LB ER Open: Read the Emergency Disaster Preparedness Committee's Letter!

More than 6,000 people care about losing the Laguna Beach Emergency Room and no wonder: According to the EDPC's letter, "closure of the ER would unnecessarily increase the number of resident fatalities, surpassing those caused by all natural disasters in Laguna Beach's history combined." Other issues:
"Urgent care facilities do not accept Medicaid or treat uninsured or underinsured residents, resulting in increased health inequality within the community. "
"Unlike an emergency department, an urgent care cannot respond to a disaster."
"The hospital serves not only Laguna Beach but also 142,000 residents of Dana Point, San Juan Capistrano, Laguna Niguel, Aliso Viejo, and San Clemente."
Anyone can sign this petition. Beyond the thousands of residents it serves, millions of visitors come to our Southern OC coastline each year. Please share this petition and plan to attend this Thursday's Hospital Task Force meeting, 4:30 p.m. August 20th to hear directly from Providence about how this closure will affect the community. Location: City Council Chambers, 505 Forest Avenue, Laguna Beach. Thank you!
