More than 4,900 signatures in less than 3 months? Yes! The petition to save Laguna Beach’s Hospital Emergency Room is getting lots of traction, thanks to you!
Coastal Southern OC communities are speaking up: we need a fully functional hospital with 24/7 emergency room. Closure could create a cascading crisis: increasing mortality rates for time-sensitive conditions, elevating waits at other hospitals and increasing delays in diagnoses. And it doesn’t stop there.
When an ER shuts down, associated services go, too. This hospital is an economic anchor, supporting hundreds of jobs and indirect spending. Hotels could lose business if corporate retreat managers following duty of care guidelines move events to other cities that have hospitals. New businesses and families may avoid settling in the area.
San Clemente lost its hospital in 2016. We can’t afford to lose another hospital. Please share the petition and keep the momentum going. An urgent care handles non-life threatening injuries and illnesses only. Thank you!
