Save King from being put down

Save King from being put down

The Issue

Please join me in saving my one-year-old Corso/Pit bull mix, King, from being unjustly put down. King is not just a pet; he is my beloved four-legged family member. Since I adopted King at five weeks old, he has been my companion through thick and thin, providing love, comfort, and joy.

King is a gentle giant, often described by friends and family as the biggest love attention hog you could meet. He's so gentle that he's even scared of the garbage can! Despite this, he is now facing the tragic consequence of being euthanized due to an incident that has been completely misunderstood.

Recently, King was involved in a situation where he bit someone. However, context is crucial here. During a dog fight, someone intervened by removing King's chain collar and swinging it at both of us. In this chaotic moment, King believed he needed to protect me, and acted out of instinct, perceiving a threat. Anyone aware of this context would understand that King was not acting out of malice, but responding to what he thought was a need to defend his family.

Dogs, like humans, can act defensively in confusing and threatening situations. This isolated incident should not define King’s entire life, nor should it overshadow his usually loving disposition. Retraining or proper intervention by specialists could address any behavior concerns to ensure King continues to be the loving, gentle soul we all know.

We need to give King a chance to remain with his family. Euthanasia is not the solution for a dog who is normally loving and protective. Let's advocate for a fair evaluation process that considers both the circumstances and King’s character before making such a life-altering decision.

Join me in asking local authorities and animal control to assess options like rehabilitation or behavior training. Help us convince decision-makers to act compassionately and give King the opportunity to continue living with the family he loves and protects. Please sign this petition to save King, my gentle giant, and spread the word to support our case.
