The Issue

Dear Members of the Killingly Town Council,
We, the undersigned residents and patrons of the The Killingly Public Library. The Library serves as an essential cornerstone of our community, offering invaluable educational resources, critical technology access, and enriching cultural programs for residents of all ages.
Reducing library funding would severely diminish its capacity to serve the public, disproportionately affecting our community’s most vulnerable members, including seniors, children, students, and those without reliable internet access at home. The library is not merely a place to borrow books; it is a vital community center where individuals gather to learn, collaborate, and access critical community services.
We understand budgetary constraints are challenging, but cutting library funding would have lasting negative effects far beyond immediate fiscal concerns. Investing in our library is an investment in our community’s future—promoting literacy, lifelong learning, and civic engagement.
Therefore, we respectfully request that the Killingly Town Council protect and sustain full funding for the Killingly Public Library, ensuring it remains the thriving heart of our community.
Thank you for your thoughtful consideration.
