This makes me SO angry!!! The first time that we have a 'real' (ie. 'normal') gay couple with happy, healthy kids represented on Aussie TV and they decide to write out one half of the relationship!? It is so important for GLBTI (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgendered and Intersex) youth to see positive role models depicted on our TV screens because there ARE so many long term, loving same sex relationships out there, and they need to know that it is NOT just a life of loneliness, shame and sadness that they can look forward to as adults. The characters of Tom, Kane, Stella and Finn were a happy, caring, supportive and sometimes disfunctional family unit (but who's isn't??) that ultimately showed that the bonds of love are far more important than whether you have two dads, two mums or one of each. There must be some way we can protest this with Channel 9 and the series producers Playmaker Media and demand that they keep Tom and Kane's relationship alive? C'MON CHANNEL 9 - GROW SOME BALLS!!!!!!!
