In our town of Jacksonville NC, we have many ponds which habitat geese all day everyday, and they have new born babies as well each year. well with the traffic being so crowded at times there is one particular main street that has been a problem for hitting and killing these wonderful creatures over and over.  it is sad and disgraceful to be driving or walking up the road and see the bodies of these animals just laying in the ditches or even on the road. the road i'm urging about is.  Western Blvd.. this entire strip has many many geese who try crossing the road to get to other food and water to feed themselves and their young. there has even been reports of witness seeing drivers hitting these animals on purpose, we are ones who have seen many try to hurry them along by inching up closer and revving their engine and even speeding around them. now for the reason of this petition is simple we believe. for locals and tourist to be fully aware of the geese crossing, we need signs that state just that.. '' GEESE CROSSING '' and maybe even make a fine for hitting one if proven on purpose. it is unbelievable there is no signs at all on this entire strip of such yet. well today we strive to change this.  please help this petition gain the attraction it needs to make this change.
