The largest and oldest Dawn Redwood on Illinois State University's campus is set for removal during the Wonsook Kim College of Fine Arts Transformation Project. This is a beautiful, mature tree that is an incredible example of this endangered species. There is currently a lack of information regarding why this tree must be removed since despite it being in the construction zone, it is not close to the buildings being worked upon. We are working to save this tree and ensure that it is not cut down during the construction process. Please join us in convincing ISU to save this beautiful Dawn Redwood so that future students can enjoy its presence for years to come.
