I never thought I would be doing a petition, however, there comes a time when we all must step up. During my coming & goings, I’m noticing a terrifying theme in all aspects of life, technology attempting to outpace mother wit’ cashiers being pushed out by self-checkouts, automated phone calls & other job-killing “developments”(robots) that results in loss of purchasing power which in turn leads to poverty & crime.  

Society’s response, times are changing or what good can we do. It may not seem like a big deal, but the consequences are enormous. When you sign this petition, you are helping a mother who needs this job to make ends meet, a college student putting themselves through college, or a retiree who finds out retirement is not enough.

I understand that technology will have a place in our world, though let’s ensure it doesn’t replace or dictate our humanity. I want to start little by little, remove all self-checkouts are limit them to 2 machines & they can only be active at certain times of the day. 

Automation whether its robotic cleaners or phone calls are dangerous not only to our economy but our humanity. 

Let’s score a win for humanity that expediency isn’t always the answer.
