Unfortunately, this iconic establishment is now facing the threat of closure, only to be replaced by a Dollarama. While we understand the need for development and economic growth, the replacement of Hollywood 3 with yet another retail outlet is something the community does not want. Pitt Meadows already has sufficient stores selling similar products, but what we lack is the cultural and communal space that Hollywood 3 provides. The theatre’s closure would mean more than losing a business; it would mean losing a part of our town's identity and soul.
