I begun building this skatepark in 2020, during the height of the  covid.  This skatepark gave many teenagers including myself, a place to express ourselves through our shared love of skateboarding. As the years have went on, we hosted events bringing in other young creatives to express themselves, show off their art, have a space they feel comfortable etc. I am so proud of the community we have built together. That is why hearing news of the HOGSPOT being destroyed has rocked me so. This place is an organic part of the community, a precious third space for many young men and women.  Why should the community that has declared youth crime as a crisis in 2023 (seeing an over 300% rise in juvenile arrests) take away a precious space that is offering an alternative to those other lifestyles ? I urge you to sign, share, and repost this petition as soon as you see it. The county wants to remove all of the obstacles by September 18th. Time is of the essence. Those who know the HOGSPOT well or maybe even you've only visited once, I urge you to go appreciate the park. Regardless of what happens I am beyond proud of the communtiy we've built and the friends we've made. Love you all.
