We are now officially a Historic-Cultural Monument

Yesterday the LA City Council met for a final decision on our nomination for the 1553 Ewing St house to be considered a Historic-Cultural Monument and it passed! It's such great news, so much hard work was put into working towards this. Even though Lupe won't be able to stay there, her biggest concern, being as selfless as she is, was that this piece of Echo Park history be safe from future demolition. Her hard work, and the work of our community made this happen. Thank you to everyone who has been supporting.
