Hello supporters of 1245 Edward Street, which is still standing!
Thank you once again for signing the petition. While the University has taken the City to court, there are no results at the moment to update you on. The back steps/deck, which were heavily damaged last summer, were removed last weekend by Volcano Construction, and after complaints to 311 by neighbours, the University has been cutting the grass in the front and back of the home.
Meanwhile, many unnecessary demolitions continue to happen throughout HRM, including the latest one (pic above) at 2110 Robie Street, a newly-renovated four-unit building. With our housing crisis, and no building plans in sight at many of these demos, it doesn't feel like the climate or affordable housing is on the minds of those doing the demolitions. We've had 450 demolitions in Halifax since 2020, so, here's another petition you might wish to consider signing: http://shorturl.at/dlxET

Hope you are keeping safe this summer, whoever you are!
