

Hello all - Demolitions continued on Robie Street this past week of three historic homes, all now in the hands of private developers. We're going to see a lot of empty lots for a long time on Robie. If you are able to attend, mark your calendars for this upcoming look at what's happening with demolitions of historic building stock in HRM and what can be done about them, presented by the Heritage Trust of NS. https://www.htns.ca/events
They've also launched an online campaign - #beforeitsgonehfx - send them photos and they'll post pics of buildings that may be at risk. The campaign runs on Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok and Twitter with posts every Tuesday and Thursday.
And a reminder to please contact Halifax City Council members about the upcoming Public Hearing on September 27 for 1245 Edward Street. Tell Council to listen to their heritage staff and heritage advisory committee and say yes to preserving this important historic home.
