Hello friends - Tomorrow is the emergency meeting of the City's Heritage Advisory Committee, and so we wait.
Today's "work" at the house seemed to consist of finishing hooking back up the electrical that Dal must never have connected when they purchased the home, and stacking and separating the previously demolished interior items. I counted 15 historic original doors, some, sadly damaged in their removal from their hinges - the first time in 125 years they were separated from their doorways.
Susan Sapp would have turned 97 today, the day a demolition permit appeared on her beloved home, a home which she cared for and loved for almost 60 years.
I saw her chair sitting defiantly facing the rubble and raised a silent toast to her - Happy birthday, Grammie Sapp. To happier days at 1245 Edward.
