Thanks to everyone! 1,150 signatures in such a short space of time is awe-inspiring.
THIS is the true representation of the sentiment towards this proposal. I don’t see 1,150 people posting their support of this on the planning portal. In fact, to date, I’ve only seen two.
They want to replace this beautiful place, enjoyed by many, home to many species of wildlife, with a tiny ‘growing hub’ and a sanitised, SANG-type space. So much better than ‘mitigating’ the damage, is not doing damage at all.
There are livelihoods at stake, animals to look after, and our environmental and climate future to think about. Sounds dramatic but it’s true. What we do now will affect the lives of our children and grandchildren. What kind of world are we leaving them?
The farm needs protecting and the Heath needs protecting. They cannot do that for themselves. The Farm and Heath have a very important, established relationship. Pouring concrete on the Farm will hurt the Heath. Anyone who has walked there will know what a special place it is, how good for well-being it is to be there. How children enjoy their visits there, learning about nature and wildlife, and how life can be much easier to negotiate after having been in the quiet and beauty.
A hospital will be open day and night. It will create noise pollution, further traffic pollution, light pollution. Not only will there be a huge number of additional daily commuters to the area but patients, maintenance, visitors. It will have a massive impact on the air quality of the area.
Changing the rest of the Farm to an HSA will only be to the detriment of the wildlife which resides there. It can only diminish its biodiversity. We have already watched them destroy gorse, important as it was, in field 2 – right before the last HSA application .
Please continue to share the petition as widely as possible to get the message out there. This kind of issue is going on in many places. We can all play our part in saving it.
