Missed hearing about Lough Beg on Sunday? Please join us tomorrow evening, Tuesday 4 February

Extinction Rebellion is hosting a talk and discussion at the Accidental Theatre, Shaftesbury Square, Belfast, BT2 7DB: 'Love and Rage. Natural Wonder and Ecocide at Lough Beg' at 6pm on Tuesday 4 February
Lough Beg sparkled in the sun on World Wetlands Day like the jewel it is. Many hundreds of Whooper Swans, thousands of Golden Plovers, Lapwings and a Hen Harrier were among the highlights. Lough Beg is part of a network of internationally important wetlands protected by the Ramsar Convention.
Wetland biodiversity matters for the climate and 40% of all species live or breed in wetlands. Direct and indirect habitat loss and fragmentation is driving extinction. The off-line routing of the A6 will have a profound impact on the integrity of Lough Beg's ecosystem.
