While contemplating the map, listen to a small flock of Whooper Swans flying in and joining other members of their clan; lots of greetings and debate!

Our Big Ask on World Wetlands Day:

We call upon the Northern Ireland Executive to review its 2016 decision to proceed with the off-line section of the the 'Red Route Variant' through the floodplain of Lough Beg - Heaney Country.

The Department for Infrastructure accepts this route traverses habitat functionally linked to this internationally important wetland. This month, February 2020, we urge all who care about our planet and future generations to speak up: The moratorium on construction due to the presence each winter of internationally important numbers of Icelandic Whooper Swans must be made permanent. This is a wetland to be protected in all seasons, for all time.
