The Issue

Heacham North Beach Hut promenade is an iconic location that holds great importance to everyone who visits. On one side stands the vibrant line of colourful beach huts and on the other the ebb and flow of the tides of the Wash.

Whether it's families enjoying a peaceful walk by the sea, dogs weaving through the huts on a morning walk, joggers and cyclists getting their fill of cardio and fresh air against the back drop of a sunrise or sunset, tourists capturing the beauty of Heacham's coastline, or beach hut owners who have invested love and care into their huts for generations, this site is  a community cornerstone.

The Borough Council of King's Lynn and West Norfolk (BCKLWN) currently own this land. The decision whether to sell this plot of land is going before the BCKLWN Cabinet. If the Council decides to dispose of the asset, this would pose a grave threat to this beloved landmark. A private buyer could potentially demolish the beach huts or make them prohibitively expensive for local owners.

We urge the Council to not dispose of this land and maintain ownership of this precious site.
