At last night’s council meeting (4th Sept) we handed this petition in along with a 600 signature paper petition so in total about 2000 signatures.
The motion we put forward which was for the Council to immediately call a halt to the closure of any libraries in the Borough and to convert the libraries under threat into multi-use venues for existing Council services was defeated and the administration (HRA) won their vote to keep all options open.
This is extremely disappointing as we now fear that these libraries under threat will close though we acknowledge no final decision has been taken yet.
We will continue to fight to keep Harold Wood library open.
In the meantime we would like to thank you for your support and if you have any ideas to help keep this library open then please email us at hwhpra@btinternet.com
We will close this petition now
Regards
Harold Wood Councillors - Brian Eagling, Martin Goode, Darren Wise
