Save Happy Hour on Coogee Beach

The issue

We need your help! Happy Hour is at risk of complete cancellation by Randwick Council. For reasons still unclear, after nearly a year and an entire summer season of zero trouble, a decision has been made to remove all ice bath events from Coogee Beach (and other beaches in its remit).

The whole purpose of Happy Hour is to provide a space to connect with like-minded humans doing fun, resilience-building activities together on the beach. Its intention has always been to improve people's mental wellbeing and get them out meeting new people in a friendly, open environment. Because making friends as an adult is hard, right? It's never just been about the ice baths, it's about giving you an hour of good that stays with you throughout the whole week. Why would that ever be a bad thing?

It's vital to get as much support as we can behind this petition to show the council how much these events mean to the community, so any comments you can add to describe what you've got from attending would be greatly appreciated. Breathwork, cold water therapy, connection, mental health – these aren't negative words. We're trying to do something good here, let's band together to keep it that way!
