We are strongly opposed to developing 885 Bloomfield Avenue (Block 2205-Lot 6) into a housing project.

We strongly support re-zoning that area to be designated as permanent Open Space.

With less than 2% of Verona, NJ, undeveloped, we are advocating for Block 2205-Lot 6 (1.77 acres) to remain undeveloped. This land is dense with mature trees and fauna and successfully acts as a natural barrier between the busy traffic of Bloomfield Avenue and the desirable Oakridge neighborhood of Verona.

Preserving Block 2205-Lot 6 as Green Space may mitigate or protect against flooding due to increased stormwater surges and localized flooding.

Preserving Block 2205-Lot 6 as undeveloped land also will aid in preventing habitat loss which is the greatest threat to NJ's wildlife.
