We have recently learned that the DRMS has completed its second adequacy review of Zephyr's hard rock gold mine application and they have published their conclusions for all to see.  Zephyr will likely request an extension of the review period as many of the earlier responses by Zephyr have been found to be inadequate and a response will require at great deal of work.

Analysis of the review finds that of the 101 objections the DRMS established in October, 21 significant objections remain open.  These include some possible "deal breakers". If you have the time check out numbers 1, 22, 23, 39, 47 (Grape Creek), 67 & 69, 85, 87, and 99. Additionally you will want to know, DRMS has required Zephyr to respond to the 200 letters of objection which Zephyr completely ignored previously. Our voices are being heard!

Importantly, objection #99 includes Dr. Emerman's report. Dr. Emerman's report alone requires a detailed response to water consumption understatements, tailings dam failures, and storage/use of chemicals.  Also fire extinguishment/prevention has not been specifically addressed by DRMS. Sadly, there has been no mention of the January 8, 2022 catastrophic tailings stack failure in Brazil.

Our coalition will meet again prior to the next deadline to assess additional omissions that the DRMS should require Zephyr to address.
