Frazer Lake in Upper Mission has completely dried up for the first time in memory. This sudden disappearance has devastated the local ecosystem — fish and turtles are gone, and a beloved community space has been lost.

The City of Kelowna’s explanation does not align with what residents have observed for decades. Frazer Lake has never dried up before, and we believe urgent action is needed.

We, the undersigned, call on:

The City of Kelowna to fully investigate the cause of Frazer Lake’s disappearance.
The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy to step in and ensure accountability and environmental protections.
Both parties to restore Frazer Lake and implement safeguards to prevent this from happening again.

Frazer Lake is more than just water — it is home to wildlife, a gathering place for families, and an important part of our community identity. We cannot allow it to vanish without answers or solutions.
