Dear friends, neighbors, and supporters of our efforts to save Fort DuPont State Park,

Below is the 12th post in a series titled “The Privatization of Public Land.” This post focuses on the lawsuit Jack Guerin and I filed to return Grassdale to The People last year.

If you’re interested, please click on the link in the post titled ‘Brief on Standing’ - it describes case law that serves as precedent for our case along with excerpts from my affidavit to support our position. My Affidavit of Standing can be read in its entirety within the same link as part of Exhibit A.

I point this out to you because, even though I’m describing all of the reasons why i feel it is important to protect open, green space and have it remain in the public trust (and honor protections already in place), I am also speaking for all of you who share these beliefs. This property, and all state parks belong to The People! We need to join together to fight the greed and averice that have stolen this land from us.

Please send an email to legislators today to ask them to return this property to the state park system. Ask your friends and family to do the same. It’s simple, and the link is included in the article. Do it for yourselves, future generations, wildlife, and the environment, it’s so important!

Thank you so much for your continued support! 💚
