Forestville RSL is a beloved gathering place for families and the wider community —but now, its future is under threat by a Development Application (DA) that proposes demolishing the entire site to make way for a large, imposing , suburb-dominating retirement village, with a new small poker-machine-prevalent RSL club inside it . And,  this retirement complex will be smack in the middle and look into many of the community’s facilities for young children .

Gone forever will be the club’s large, family popular outdoor area where the community’s  parents now gather and socialise while their  children play on the grass. The club’s family space will be dramatically decreased while its poker machine ratio space will be dramatically increased.

Despite Council’s independent Northern Beaches Design & Sustainability Advisory Panel (DSAP) calling for a complete redesign of this abhorrent DA, club management is attempting to push ahead with it, ignoring the DSAP report and its team of experts.  

Do not allow this objectionable DA to destroy the massive and still rapidly growing young-family demographic heart and essence of Forestville and Killarney Heights.

Stop this appalling, unneeded and community-hostile redevelopment. Please ensure our club remains for generations to come as it is now: a financially viable, welcoming, family-friendly community asset.
