I believe our laws should be by the people and for the people. HB 631 put on Bullseye on Walton County alone and then fired. Our beaches have never been the same. It's often like a police state on 30A Beaches.  So I have to ask, are you for the people or for the top 1/2 of 1%. We all individually have to decide. I have made up my mind. I stand with most ALL Americans where beaches were once open for all peoples and should once again be free. The repeal of HB 631 is just the starting point and not the ending. Our battle to free our beaches is just beginning. There are lots of options our government has to right a wrong and has done so many many times in U.S. History.
I choose to fight for the 5,100,000 Tourist that come to our shores annually. I chose to fight for business owners who both directly and indirectly benefit from our tourism industry.
I can not as a free man believe what once was free is now "owned."      Individuals purchased homes along/near the Gulf only to see their dreams crushed. Others purchased property as an investment only to see their incomes fall and their financial dreams dashed. All because of a bad law that singled out one county. Walton County alone. I believe such a law to be unconstitutional. As you know there many options available to right a wrong.  Over a ten year period at 5,100,000 million visitors every year choose Walton County Florida in which to spend their vacations and hard earned dollars. Over a ten year period this means 51,000,000 visitors will grace us with their presence. There are some 85,000 residents in Walton County. Business after business has been damaged by the privatization and an ugly legal spiral has occurred that should never have taken place. Business owners are seeing shrinking balance sheets and narrowing profit margins. The first step of our journey is the repeal of HB 631. The question we all have to ask ourselves is. Are the "ill gotten" property rights more important than the rights of 51,000,000
Americans. We should not be a society that takes from the poor and gives to the rich. I believe the words of our Constitution still ring true. "We the people" formed an imperfect union with checks and balances to return to what is right when we lose our way. So do we have a government that is of the people and for the people. The America I love is of the people and for the people. When people fight against righting a wrong they are telling our 51,000,000 guests and 85,000 residents they don't matter. If one believes these people don't matter I invite you to greet each and every one of them to let them know they are not welcome. Meet these people at the county line and go door to door letting them know they don't matter. Visit every single business and let them know they are not important to you. Join us in the fight to restore Customary Use to EVERY Grain of Sand on Florida’s Beaches. The future of Walton County businesses and more importantly what is right depend it.
