This plea comes from a heartbroken family facing the potential loss of their cherished dog, Raven, who has been unfairly impounded and on the brim of euthanization. Raven is an integral part of our family, with not a single incident of causing injury or harm to any person or animal throughout her life.

Unfortunately, the course of events unfurled such that a playful moment was misinterpreted as an aggressive act. As per municipal by-laws, there seems to be zero-tolerance for any dog behavior that could be perceived as aggressive, not considering the actual impact or harm caused. Despite there being a lack of evidence establishing Raven's behavior as injurious, she is being considered for euthanasia.

Adding insult to injury, this isolated incident happened more than 20 months ago. Since then, Raven has been a model canine citizen with zero incidents to question her behavior. Nevertheless, she is presently impounded, awaiting an appeal while facing an outrageous penalty that does not equate to her actions.

Such rigid application of the law fails to consider the multitude of nuances concerning dog behavior and often leads to severe, unjustified punishment for our loyal companions, as is the case with Raven.
