Save Falkirk Bus Station for the Community

We ask for NO MONEY, just PERMISSION to maintain and use as a community! Please SHARE!!!!

We, the undersigned, are calling on Falkirk Council and McGill’s (owners of the former bus yard beside the old bus station) to open up this neglected space and allow its use for safe, local community events, especially those for families and children.
Right now, the yard sits:
Fenced off with concrete barriers
Unused, collecting rubbish
In a prime town centre location that could become a fantastic, safe space for:
Children’s activities
Local charity markets
Seasonal fairs and music events
Community pop-ups and celebrations
We believe this area should be brought back into civic life — not as a free-for-all, but through managed, agreed accessoverseen by trusted local groups like Falkirk Delivers.
We are also asking Falkirk Council to:
Use its powers under Section 179 of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997 to require the site to be cleaned and maintained
Work with McGill’s to establish safe access for emergency services, refuse, and supply deliveries to the neighbouring businesses
This isn’t about taking the land away from McGill’s — it’s about unlocking its potential for good, supporting Falkirk’s families and small businesses, and giving our community a much-needed space for joy, play, and togetherness.
Please sign to show your support and help make this happen.
