Overview: 

English Bulldogs are recognized & loved for their unique appearance & gentle temper, but many suffer due to unethical breeding practices & lack of rescue resources. This petition calls for stronger regulations on breeding standards & increased funding for Bulldog rescues to ensure these dogs live healthier, happier lives. 

Why is this important? 

English Bulldogs face significant health challenges, including breathing difficulties, joint problems, & other genetic disorders caused by poor breeding standards. Many breeders prioritize appearance & financial wealth over health, leaving Bulldog babies prone to illness & suffering. 

Additionally, countless Bulldogs end up in shelters because owners are unaware of the expenses required to keep them healthy. These shelters & rescues lack the funding to provide adequate medical care, rehoming support, & awareness campaigns.

We must ACT NOW to protect these loyal, loving dogs by addressing the root causes & supporting the organizations dedicated to their care. 

My Requests:

1. Stricter Breeding Regulations
   1. The AKC must enforce stricter guidelines to prioritize health over looks when breeding
   2. Ban the breeding of Bulldogs that have genetic health risks
2. Increased Rescue Support
   1. Provide financial aid for Bulldog rescue organizations to cover medical treatments, rehabilitation, & rehoming efforts
   2. Launch educational programs for potential owners on Bulldog care & health needs
3. Raise Awareness
   1. Encourage humane societies to advocate for responsible Bulldog ownership & ethical breeding practices
